Better Care Together
Better Care Together is a health and care partnership for Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.
The programme is a partnership of NHS organisations and local authorities across the area with the aim of improving the health and experience for patients and service users by focussing on community-based prevention and care – while at the same time addressing major financial challenges.
Leicester City CCG is one of the partners contributing to the programme.
Better Care Together has its own dedicated website: www.bettercareleicester.nhs.uk
Next steps to better care
In August 2018 partnership published ‘Next steps to better care in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland’, a document describing the progress of partners from health and local authorities to improve the health and wellbeing of local people.
The document also outlines the work that is happening to keep more people well and out of hospital by improving their access to GPs, practice and community teams and caring for them closer to where they live. It also explains the work that partners are doing to extend services for patients who have an urgent need due to a crisis.
The Better Care Together programme has a Public and Patient Involvement group, which is made up of passionate and knowledgeable individuals, who are helping to shape future services. They are always looking for new people to get involved. You can read more here.
