2015 – Primary Care Commissioning Committee

Leicester City CCG understands primary care and is passionate about improving its quality across all practices. The introduction of co-commissioning is seen as an essential step towards expanding and strengthening primary medical care. NHS England has provided the opportunity for CCGs to assume greater power and influence over the commissioning of primary medical care from April 2015.

As such the CCG’s Governing Body resolved to establish a joint committee known as the Primary Care Commissioning Committee. The role of the committee is to make collective decisions on the review, planning and procurement of primary care services in Leicester City, under delegated authority from NHS England.
