Learn about our governing body who are responsible for leading the organisation and ensuring patients receive the best possible healthcare and lead healthy lives.
Leicester City CCG, like all clinical commissioning groups, is a GP-led organisation. GPs are in close contact with patients on a daily basis. They understand what communities and patients need because they hear about it first-hand as they treat and care for them. They are therefore best placed to make decisions about healthcare in Leicester to meet the needs of our uniquely diverse population.
The Leicester City CCG governing body consists of 8 GPs (including the chair and co-chair) a hospital consultant, a nurse, independent lay members supported by a management team responsible for the day to day running and development of the CCG.
We have recently appointed two new GP integration leads, Dr Tun Than and our first female Board GP, Dr Sulaxni Nainani.
The GP members of the governing body are all elected by member GP practices.
