Ivan was born in Leicester and has worked as a consultant in public health within the city since December 2008. He is currently employed in this role by Leicester City Council. Prior to this, he carried out his public health training within the West Midlands region and once qualified went on to work in a
regional public health team dedicated to addressing the risks posed by chemical and environmental hazards on the health of the population. Ivan has a degree in Environmental Health and a Masters degree in Public Health having obtained qualifications from universities in Leeds, Nottingham and Birmingham.
Whilst maintaining a keen interest in health protection matters, Ivan has found that the opportunity to work closely with the CCG clinicians and management team has generated an increased interest in the development of local services focused on the prevention, early identification and treatment of a wide range of long term conditions, particularly cardiovascular disease.
In his spare time Ivan enjoys cycling, fitness training and participating in a wide range of local
community support activities.
