In this section we will help you to find the health care services in Leicester that you need:
GP practices will be closed over Easter, but there are other services that can help if you need it.
If you have an illness or injury that won’t go away that isn’t life threatening, You should always call your GP first, even if you think your surgery is closed.
If you can’t get an appointment soon enough with your usual GP practice, you can see a GP or nurse at one of the Healthcare Hubs.
Your local pharmacy, or chemist, isn’t just the place where you pick up your prescribed medicines. They can also give health advice.
Urgent care and treatment centres are located in Leicestershire (outside of the city) and Rutland, offering a range of treatment for minor illnesses and injuries.

The Leicester Royal Infirmary Emergency Department has been designed with patients in mind and to treat people who are ill or injured and need treatment quickly. There is clear signage around the building that will explain where you need to go and what you can expect.
