Urgent dental care

Changes to urgent dental care due to coronavirus (COVID-19)

From 8 June NHS Dental Services have been allowed to reopen, provided the appropriate measures are in place to ensure the safety of staff and patients. However, routine services such as check-ups are generally not available at this time.

If you have an urgent dental problem or you are in extreme pain, then please phone your local dental practice for advice and treatment. Please do not attend your practice in person, unless requested to do so by a dentist.

If you do not have a regular dental practice, then call a local practice to access urgent treatment or advice as required. You can find a list of dental practices at www.nhs.uk or by searching dental practices for your area online.

After 5pm weekday evenings, weekends and bank holidays you should contact NHS 111.

Please do not visit A&E departments or GP surgeries for dental care. You will not be seen and will be asked to call your own dental practice or NHS 111.
