Patient and Community Engagement Group
Leicester City Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) is committed to involving patients and the public at every stage of the commissioning process, starting with planning and strategy development, to help ensure that we design health services that meet the needs of local people.
We collect feedback from our health service providers in a number of ways. One of those is though our Patient and Community Engagement Group (PCEG) which improves our links with Leicester’s community groups.
The PCEG has approximately fifteen members, who represent community organisations and patient groups, and it provides a forum to ensure that the voice of the collective population can influence the CCG’s decision making process. The group works with the CCG to bring forward a wealth of patient experience and knowledge, empowering communities to have a say and encouraging their voices to be heard.
The PCEG advises on:
- the timely involvement of local people in the early development of local health services
- effective working with Leicester’s community and voluntary organisations and networks, in order to facilitate patient and public involvement
The PCEG also monitors and reports back on issues relating to patient feedback, supporting and advising the governing body with all matters relating to the effective involvement of local people.
A separate Patient and Community Engagement Online Group (PCEOG) supports the PCEG via email, to widen the involvement of different communities from across the city that may not be fully represented by the group.
We are seeking applications to join the PCEG and the PCEOG; in order to apply, you should be either
- a representative of a voluntary or community group which serves the diversity of Leicester’s population
- a representative of a patient group in Leicester city.
We are always looking for new members of PCEG, whether to attend the bi-monthly meeting or get involved online.
If you are interested in becoming part of either group, please contact Jo Ryder, Engagement Manager, on 0116 2951123 or email: email@example.com
