Patient and Community Engagement Group
Leicester City Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) is committed to involving patients and the public at every stage of the commissioning process, starting with planning and strategy development, to help ensure that we design health services that meet the needs of local people.
We collect feedback from our health service providers in a number of ways. One of those is though our Patient and Community Engagement Group (PCEG) which improves our links with Leicester’s community groups.
The PCEG has approximately fifteen members, who represent community organisations and patient groups, and it provides a forum to ensure that the voice of the collective population can influence the CCG’s decision making process. The group works with the CCG to bring forward a wealth of patient experience and knowledge, empowering communities to have a say and encouraging their voices to be heard.
The PCEG advises on:
- The timely involvement of local people in the early development of local health services
- Effective working with Leicester’s community and voluntary organisations and networks, in order to facilitate patient and public involvement
The PCEG also monitors and reports back on issues relating to patient feedback, supporting and advising the governing body with all matters relating to the effective involvement of local people.
Three times a year the CCG holds a wider Patient Community Engagement Workshop to engage with more people; to discuss topics which are of interest locally. The first workshop was held on the 19th March 2019.
You can read the outcomes reports from the workshops here:
We are always looking for new members of PCEG, whether to attend the bi-monthly meeting or to take part in our workshops.
We will send you invitations to free training opportunities on public involvement activities.
If you are interested in taking part please contact Jo Ryder, Head of Engagement and Experience, on 0116 2951123 or email: firstname.lastname@example.org
