Enjoy being back by getting double vaxxed. You can take part in the activities you enjoy with the confidence that the Covid-19 vaccine will reduce the chances of you suffering from the Covid-19 virus.
We can now enjoy being back and can take part in many of the activities we haven’t been able to for what feels like such a long time:
The virus is still a concern so we must still be cautious. Getting double vaxxed offers you the best protection from becoming seriously ill with Covid and is a way for you to feel confident in taking part in activities again.
If you are aged 16+ and you live in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland, you will find details on this page about how to get your vaccine.
How to get your jab
If you’re pregnant or under 40 you’ll usually be offered appointments for the Pfizer/BioNTech or Moderna vaccines
If you’re under 18, you’ll only be offered the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine
If you are aged 12 and over you are eligible to receive the Covid-19 vaccine.
The process for getting your vaccination, the type of vaccine you will be offered and the number of doses you will receive depends on your age or any health conditions you may have.
Detailed information about the vaccine and who is currently eligible can be found on the national NHS website.
You can attend a drop-in clinic even if you aren’t registered with a GP or you don’t have an NHS number. Anyone who had their first dose at least eight weeks ago can attend the clinics to have their second dose of the same vaccine.
If would prefer to book an appointment in advance, you can do so using one of the following routes:
National Covid Vaccine Booking Service
You can book online or by telephone by calling 119.
You can use this service to book at the following local locations:
You may also be able to book at a vaccination centre outside Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland if you live within a 45 minute drive.
Your GP practice
Your GP practice may also invite you to book your vaccination, if they are part of the vaccination programme.
