This website will remain live for several months while archiving takes place, but it will not be updated. You may also be directed back this website temporarily where content has not yet been added to the integrated care board’s website. #GetVaxxed. Enjoy being back

Enjoy being back by getting double vaxxed. You can take part in the activities you enjoy with the confidence that the Covid-19 vaccine will reduce the chances of you suffering from the Covid-19 virus.

We can now enjoy being back and can take part in many of the activities we haven’t been able to for what feels like such a long time:

  • Going on holiday
  • Going to sports events
  • Meeting family and friends in larger numbers and indoors
  • Going to nightclubs
  • Enjoying live music and festivals

The virus is still a concern so we must still be cautious. Getting double vaxxed offers you the best protection from becoming seriously ill with Covid and is a way for you to feel confident in taking part in activities again.

If you are aged 16+ and you live in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland, you will find details on this page about how to get your vaccine.

How to get your jab

  1. Book using the National Booking Service or 119, or
  2. Your GP practice will contact you, or
  3. You can attend a drop-in clinic without needing an appointment.

If you’re pregnant or under 40 you’ll usually be offered appointments for the Pfizer/BioNTech or Moderna vaccines

If you’re under 18, you’ll only be offered the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine

If you are aged 12 and over you are eligible to receive the Covid-19 vaccine.

The process for getting your vaccination, the type of vaccine you will be offered and the number of doses you will receive depends on your age or any health conditions you may have.

  • People aged 18 and over (or turning 18 within 3 months) can get their first dose of the vaccine, followed by the second dose eight weeks later.
  • People aged 16 to 17  (or turning 16 within 3 months) can get their first dose of the vaccine, followed by the second dose twelve weeks later.
  • Children aged 12 to 15 are offered two doses of the vaccine.
  • A third ‘top-up’ dose is offered to those aged over 12 who were severely immunosuppressed at the time of their first or second dose. You will be contacted by the NHS if you need a third dose, please bring proof of your eligibility if you attend a clinic for this dose.
  • The COVID-19 booster vaccine ensures you have continued protection over the winter. You can have a booster if  your second dose was at least three months ago and one of the following applies to you:

Detailed information about the vaccine and who is currently eligible can be found on the national NHS website.

Drop-in Clinics

You can attend a drop-in clinic even if you aren’t registered with a GP or you don’t have an NHS number. Anyone who had their first dose at least eight weeks ago can attend the clinics to have their second dose of the same vaccine.
