The flu vaccination is available every year free from GP practices to protect people at risk of flu and its complications. If you are over 65 and if you have a long term condition or a weakened immune system you are at greater risk of developing complications from flu such as pneumonia.
When your GP practice contacts you, it is important that you book an appointment to receive your jab. Usually this will be around October every year. You need to have the jab annually to ensure you are protected. Find out more about the flu vaccination here.
