Flu vaccination

Find out the facts about the flu jab and how to ensure you or the older person you care for is vaccinated.

The flu vaccination is available every year free from GP practices to protect people at risk of flu and its complications. If you are over 65 and if you have a long term condition or a weakened immune system you are at greater risk of developing complications from flu such as pneumonia.

When your GP practice contacts you, it is important that you book an appointment to receive your jab. Usually this will be around September or October every year. You need to have the jab annually to ensure you are protected. You can find out more about the flu jab here.
