Get the right health care at the right time over the Easter weekend
Leicester City Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) wants to ensure that people who need health care over the long Easter weekend are able to find the right service for their needs.
Many GP surgeries will be closed from Good Friday (3 April) to bank holiday Monday (6 April). However, if you need to see a GP, but your usual practice is closed, there are two GP practices in the city which will be open over the weekend and will be available to all city patients, even if they are not registered at the practice. Patients wanting to see a GP should telephone the practice on the number given. The two practices are:
Melbourne Road Health Centre
47 Melbourne Road
Tel: 0116 255 9869
Open: Good Friday, Easter Saturday and Easter Monday 9am – 3pm
The Health Centre
Tel: 0844 477 3414

The following five practices will be open on Easter Saturday, to see only patients who are already registered with that practice:
- Beaumont Lodge Surgery, Saturday 9am – 2pm
- Dr Roy, Fosse Road South, Saturday 9am-1pm
- Fosse Medical Centre, Saturday 9am – 12 noon
- Merridale Medical Centre, Saturday 9am -12 noon
- Asquith Surgery, Saturday 8am – 11am
Patients can also visit Leicester’s walk-in and urgent care centres which offer quick, professional healthcare and can treat minor burns, cuts and wounds, infections and rashes, as well as stomach ache, vomiting and diarrhoea.
