Grants available for health and wellbeing events

Not only does Leicester City CCG buy health services on the local population’s behalf, but our role is also to help people to live long and healthy lives and prevent them from needing such services in the first place. We need to find new ways to help them to take greater responsibility for their own health, manage existing conditions better and reduce the impact that factors such as smoking, drinking alcohol, poor diet and lack of exercise may have on their health in the future.
The challenge for us is about how we achieve this to meet Leicester’s diverse and often disadvantaged population. We must use innovation, flexibility and collaboration to achieve better results for our patients.
In response, we will be granting 15 local Voluntary and Community Sector (VCS) organisations a sum of £2,500 to put on a health and wellbeing event (or series of events) for the specific communities that they support. This one-off funding opportunity will offer successful VCS organisations a pot of money to host their own events with the aim of promoting independence and self-care.
We believe that the VCS are often better able to reach under-served groups, and can provide a rich range of expert knowledge and information to some of Leicester’s most diverse communities. With this project we hope to be able to demonstrate our commitment to supporting the important work that they do, by helping to promote their services in a creative way.
Each application we receive that meets the criteria will be scored by an independent evaluation panel. Please note that the closing date for submitting applications is 10th March 2019.
All of the information that you need to apply is available in the VCS funding Bidders Information & Rules – however if you have any additional questions please do not hesitate to get in touch.
