Help achieve the ambition for health and care in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland

23rd September 2020 | By Liz Mattock | Posted in

In Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland partners in health and care services have an ambition to deliver outstanding services for the 1 million people living within our area.

Excellent working between partner organisations already exist, but we know we can do more, which is why we want to appoint an Independent Chair to lead the further development of Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland’s Integrated Care System, (LLR ICS). The ICS is a partnership of NHS providers, NHS commissioners, local authorities, voluntary and community sector and others working in partnership to deliver our vision for health and care in LLR.

The aims of the partnership are to join up health and care services, to listen to the priorities of our communities and to tackle some of the biggest challenges we are facing – improving the health and well-being of the population, the quality of care they receive, and get the most from the funding we are given.

We have already made great strides toward a more integrated approach, but the Independent Chair will play a pivotal leadership role in the next phase of our transformation, by ensuring we maximise the benefits of collaborative working.

Suitable candidates will have significant experience of leading work in a collective decision-making group such as a board, governing body or committee. They will also have a track record in securing or supporting improvement for patients, citizens or the wider public.

Andy Williams, Accountable Officer for the three CCGs in LLR said: “This is a very exciting role for someone with the right leadership skills and who wants to play a key role improving health and care services for 1 million people in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. Suitable candidates from all sectors are welcome to apply. What is essential is that they have a good understanding of the health and care sector and share our commitment and passion for improving services for the people within our area.”

The person specification and job description are available on the NHS Jobs website: https://www.jobs.nhs.uk/xi/vacancy/916188455 and the vacancy will close on Thursday, 8th October 2020.
