A Mobile Testing Unit (MTU) will be operating in Loughborough in support of the COVID-19 National Testing Programme from 10th June 2020.
Testing is by appointment only. Appointments can be made through https://www.gov.uk/guidance/coronavirus-covid-19-getting-tested
Mobile units are only in a location for a few days. They have an integrated one-way system that allows people with an appointment to attend for either walk-in or drive through testing.
The eligibility criteria for tests have been extended to include:
- Anyone aged over the age of 5 with symptoms
Essential workers will be given priority.
More guidance can be found at https://www.gov.uk/guidance/coronavirus-covid-19-getting-tested#who-can-be-tested

Cllr Deborah Taylor, Charnwood Borough Council’s lead member for communities, safety and wellbeing said: “I am pleased we are able to work with the NHS to help provide this testing facility in the local area and would encourage anyone who is displaying coronavirus symptoms, particularly key workers, to book an appointment for a test.”
