Leicester City Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) has awarded a new contract for GP services at Bowling Green Street Surgery in Leicester City.
From 1st February 2018 services at the practice will be provided by Derbyshire Health United Limited.
The contract for providing health services is currently held by The Practice PLC and is due to end on 31st January 2018. The CCG carried out a procurement process to find the next provider for health services at Bowling Green Street and the new contract is the result of that process.
Richard Morris, Director of Operations & Corporate Affairs at Leicester City CCG, said: “We want all city patients to have access to the best possible health care for themselves and their families. The new contract has been awarded for a five year period, with the option to extend for a further five years, subject to performance, which will offer our patients a continuity of service and we’re confident that Derbyshire Health United Limited will be able to sustain and improve the services offered at Bowling Green St Surgery.
“We are writing to all patients affected by this change, to explain what it means for them, but we would like to reassure them that they will continue to receive services as normal, up to and after 1st February 2018, and do not need to do anything.”
Leicester City Clinical Commissioning Group is the organisation responsible for planning and managing GP services in Leicester City, with responsibility delegated to it by NHS England since 1st April 2015.
