Patient engagement starts with patients registered at Asquith Surgery and Bowling Green St Surgery

Patients at two city practices are being given the opportunity to take part in a survey to influence what healthcare services they receive. Feedback from the survey, available from their practice and online, could ultimately affect how these services are provided for them in the future.

Leicester City Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) wrote out to all patients at Asquith Surgery and Bowling Green Street Surgery at the end of last week informing them that the CCG will be commencing a 12 week period of engagement with patients registered at both practices inviting them to give their views to help shape future services.

The current contract to provide medical care at these practices is time-limited and comes to an end on March 31, 2017. Patients’ views collected during this period will be included in the service specification for the new contract.

Professor Azhar Farooqi, Chair at Leicester City Clinical Commissioning Group, said: “This period of engagement gives us real opportunity to find out as much as we can about the needs of local patients at these practices to unsure that services continue to meet their needs in the future.

“Our purpose is to make sure the patient voice is at the heart of any decisions we make in planning and buying local health services. We are now inviting patients, their families and carers to fill in a survey to help us decide what would best meet patients’ needs. Patients can continue to receive their healthcare as normal from their existing practice during this process.”

Patient engagement began on Friday June 10 2016 and will run until Friday 2 September 2016. Patients are advised to have their say by completing the survey in either of the following ways:

• Ask for a copy of the survey available from the GP practice’s reception
• Complete the survey online using the following links

Bowling Green St Surgery

Patients can ask for a survey to be posted to their home address by telephoning 0116 295 1469 (Monday – Friday, 9am to 5pm).
