Patients invited to share their views on services at the Community Health Centre on Melbourne Road

15th September 2017 | By Liz Mattock | Posted in

Patients registered at the Community Health Centre on Melbourne Road are being given the opportunity to take part in a survey to influence the healthcare services they receive. Feedback from the survey, available from the practice and online, could ultimately affect how these services are provided for them in the future.

Leicester City Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) is writing to all patients registered at the practice, informing them that the CCG is commencing a 12 week engagement with patients, inviting them to give their views to help shape future services.

The current contract to provide medical care at the practice, held by Dr Osama and partners,  comes to an end on 31st October 2018. Leicester City CCG is now starting to look for a new provider from 1st November 2018. The CCG will use patients’ views, collected during the consultation, to help develop the service and find the most suitable provider.

Professor Azhar Farooqi, Chair at Leicester City Clinical Commissioning Group, said: “The Health Centre will not be closing and patients can continue to receive their healthcare as normal from the existing practice during this process.

“Our purpose is to make sure the patient voice is at the heart of any decisions we make in planning and buying local health services. This period of engagement gives us a real opportunity to find out as much as we can about the needs of patients at the Community Health Centre.”

Patient engagement will run until Friday 22nd December 2017.  Patients, their families and carers are advised to have their say by completing the survey in one of the following ways:

  • Ask for a copy of the survey available from the Community Health Centre reception
  • Complete the survey online
  • Request a copy of the survey to be posted to your home address by telephoning 0116 296 1469 (Monday – Friday, 9am to 5pm).

Patients are also encouraged to attend a patient information session, where NHS health representatives will be available to discuss future services and answer any questions you may have. Patients can visit the Community Health Centre during these times:

  • Monday 9th October 2017, 9am – 10.30am
  • Wednesday 11th October 2017, 9am – 10.30am
  • Friday 13th October 2017, 6.30pm – 7.30pm
  • Tuesday 17th October 2017, 3.30pm – 5pm
