Rutland achieves 10,000 Covid-19 vaccines milestone

26th February 2021 | By Liz McCann | Posted in

One in four Rutland residents have now received their first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.

The vaccination centre at Rutland County Council’s Offices in Oakham has now given 10,000 doses of the vaccine since it opened on 21 December 2020. The centre vaccinates patients registered at Rutland’s four GP practices.

Dr Hilary Fox, Clinical Director of Rutland Healthcare Primary Care Network, said: “The milestone of our 10,000th jab represents a huge community effort by practice and council staff, volunteers, community first responders and many others working behind the scenes.

“Our heartfelt thanks to everyone who has contributed so much to get one quarter of Rutlanders their first vaccination.”

Overall, more than 294,000 doses of the Covid-19 vaccine have now been given across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.
